Walking
If you are in the central area of Uturoa, the main town of Raiatea, start by heading towards the waterfront. Walk along the main road (Route de l'Anse) that runs parallel to the lagoon. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Route de Taputapuapea. Turn left onto Route de Taputapuapea. Keep walking straight for about 2 kilometers, and you will see signs leading to the de Raiatea Botanical Garden on your right. The garden is located at 5HCG+CF8, Taputapuapea, and is a beautiful spot to explore.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Uturoa. Start at the main square and head towards Route de l'Anse. Cycle along the waterfront road until you reach Route de Taputapuapea. Turn left here and continue cycling for approximately 2 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to the de Raiatea Botanical Garden on your right. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes, and the ride is quite scenic as you pedal along the coast.
Public Transport
While public transport options are limited, you can take a local bus from Uturoa to Taputapuapea. Look for the bus stop near the main square. Buses run infrequently, so check the schedule ahead of time. Inform the driver that you are heading to the botanical garden. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes, and you will need to ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the de Raiatea Botanical Garden. From there, it’s just a short walk to the entrance.
