Getting There

• Car

  If you are renting a car in Bora Bora, head southeast on Route de Vaitape from your accommodation. Follow the road for approximately 10 kilometers. As you approach Matira Beach, you will see signs indicating the beach area. There is parking available near the beach, but be aware that it may fill up quickly during peak hours. No cost is incurred for parking.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Matira Beach using public transportation, take a local bus from Vaitape, the main town on Bora Bora. Look for the bus that heads towards Matira. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes, and the fare is approximately 300 XPF (French Pacific Francs). Inform the driver you want to get off at Matira Beach. Once you arrive, you may have to walk a short distance to reach the beach area.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle in Vaitape. Head southeast on Route de Vaitape, following the same path as the car route. The distance is about 10 kilometers, which takes roughly 40-50 minutes depending on your pace. There are no specific costs for cycling, but remember to rent your bicycle beforehand, which may cost around 1000 XPF per hour.

• Walking

  For those staying close to Matira Beach, walking is a beautiful option. If you are in a nearby hotel, follow the beach paths that lead to Matira Beach. The walk will provide picturesque views of the lagoon. Ensure you have a map or GPS on your phone to guide you, as some paths can be winding. This method incurs no costs.
