Getting There

Walking
Start from Gori's central square, known as Gori's Freedom Square. Head southeast on Shota Rustaveli Avenue until you reach the Gori Fortress, which is visible from the square. Continue walking past the fortress towards the main road, and when you reach the traffic lights, turn left onto the Tskhinvali Highway (E117). Follow this road for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the village of Ateni. From there, you can ask locals for directions to the Ateni Fortress, which is located in the nearby hills.
