Ereto Waterfall: A Hidden Cascade in the Caucasus Mountains

Ereto Waterfall (ერეთოს ჩანჩქერი) is a captivating natural wonder nestled in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains, near Ganisi, Georgia. The waterfall is formed by the Ereto River, a tributary of the Mtiuleti Aragvi, as it plunges from the edge of the Keli volcanic plateau. Located at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level, Ereto Waterfall boasts a height of 45 meters, making it a breathtaking sight to behold. The river originates from powerful springs in the Aragvistavi area of the Keli Highland, initially flowing gently across the lava plateau before carving its way through a trough-shaped valley. As it reaches the eastern edge of the Mephisqalo lava flow, the river dramatically transforms into the cascading Ereto Waterfall.
