Travel Guide to Okatse (Kinchkha) Small Waterfall

Getting There

• Public Bus

  From the center of Kutaisi, head to the main bus station located near the 'Central Market'. Look for a bus heading to 'Kinchkha'. The buses are usually marked with their destinations. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Inform the driver that you want to go to the Okatse (Kinchkha) Small Waterfall, and he will let you know when to get off. The drop-off point is close to the entrance of the waterfall area.

• Minibus (Marshrutka)

  Another option is to take a minibus (marshrutka) from the same bus station. Look for a marshrutka that has 'Kinchkha' displayed. These minibuses leave more frequently than regular buses and can be a quicker option. The ride will also take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive, ask the driver or locals for directions to the waterfall entrance, which is a short walk from the drop-off point.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, you can start from Kutaisi city center. Head towards the 'Central Market' and find the road leading to the bus station. From the bus station, follow the road signs toward Kinchkha. The distance is about 18 kilometers, which may take around 4-5 hours on foot. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the path can be steep in some areas.

• Bicycle Rental

  For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle in Kutaisi. There are several rental shops in the city center. Once you have your bike, head toward the outskirts of Kutaisi, following the main road toward Kinchkha. The ride is approximately 18 kilometers and offers beautiful views along the way. Upon arrival, you can lock your bike near the entrance of the waterfall area.
