Getting There
-
Walking
Start your journey at the main square in Sighnaghi, known as the 'Sighnaghi Square'. From here, head east along the main street, which is called Chavchavadze Street. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with a small road to your right. This road is not paved, but it's well-trodden by other tourists. Turn right onto this road. As you walk, you will see some beautiful views of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains. Keep following this road for another 300 meters, and you will notice a path leading upward to your left, which is marked with a sign for 'ზედა ციხე (მრგვალი კოშკი)'. Follow this path, which is a little steep, for about 200 meters until you reach the fortress. The stunning round tower will be visible as you approach.

Walking
Alternatively, you can start by visiting the Sighnaghi Museum located near the main square. From the museum, exit and walk towards the main street (Chavchavadze Street). Head east on Chavchavadze Street for 400 meters, then look for a narrow pathway leading uphill on your left. This path will be marked, making it easy to find. Ascend this path for approximately 250 meters, and it will take you directly to the entrance of 'ზედა ციხე (მრგვალი კოშკი)'.
