Exploring Kote Marjanishvili Square: The Heart of Tbilisi

Getting There

• Metro

  If you are near a metro station, take Line 1 (the red line) towards 'Vazha-Pshavela'. Get off at 'Marjanishvili' station. Upon exiting the station, head towards Kote Marjanishvili Square, which is about a 5-minute walk straight ahead. You will see the square as you approach, with its distinct architecture and lively atmosphere.

• Bus

  For those near a bus stop, take Bus number 37 or 49. Both routes stop near Kote Marjanishvili Square. Get off at the 'Marjanishvili' stop. From there, walk about 3 minutes towards the square by heading straight and then turning left. The square will be visible as you approach.

• Tbilisi Funicular

  If you are at the Funicular station near Rustaveli Avenue, take the funicular to the top of Mtatsminda. Once at the top, you can take a taxi or walk downhill through the park area. Head towards the city center, and follow the signs or your map to Kote Marjanishvili Square, which is approximately a 20-minute walk downhill.

• Walking

  If you are already in Old Tbilisi or a nearby area, Kote Marjanishvili Square is easily accessible by walking. Simply navigate towards the center of Tbilisi, following signs towards Marjanishvili Street. As you walk, you will encounter various local shops and cafes. The square is a popular meeting point, so you can ask locals for further directions if needed.
