Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the center of Telavi, near the Telavi Fortress. Head east on Rustaveli Street until you reach the intersection with I. Chavchavadze Street. Turn right and continue walking until you reach the main bus station. From there, look for minivans (marshrutkas) heading to Ikalto. Board the marshrutka that has 'Ikalto' displayed. It will take you directly towards the Ikalto Monastery area. Once you get off the marshrutka, follow the signs leading to Ikalto Monastery, which is about a 10-minute walk from the stop.

• Public Transport

  From the Telavi city center, walk to the main bus station located near the market. Look for a marshrutka heading to Ikalto. These are usually marked with their destination on the front. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the Ikalto stop, and you will see signs directing you to the Ikalto Monastery. It’s a short walk from there, about 10 minutes.

• Bicycle Rental

  If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from any local rental shop in Telavi. From the center, cycle east on Rustaveli Street, then take I. Chavchavadze Street towards the bus station. Continue straight, following the road signs towards Ikalto. The total cycling distance is about 6 km and will take approximately 25-30 minutes. Once you arrive in Ikalto, park your bike at a designated area and walk to the monastery.
