The final approach to Watzmann Südspitze involves a challenging hike from the Wimbachgries valley. From the Wimbachbrücke bus stop, follow the trail through the Wimbachklamm gorge (small entrance fee required). Continue into the Wimbachgries, and then ascend towards the Watzmannhaus. From the Watzmannhaus, the route to the Südspitze involves exposed and challenging climbing, requiring proper equipment and experience.
