Driving
From Loßburg, follow the signs towards Ödenwald. The Großvatertanne is located a short drive from the town center. Look for signs indicating 'Großvatertanne' or 'Waldgeschichtspfad'. Parking is available at Wanderparkplatz Lauferbrunnen on Schömberger Straße, approximately 1.5 km (15 minutes walk) from the tree. Parking is free. Note that parking at Wanderparkplatz Teuchelwald in Schömberger Straße is limited to 3 hours Mon-Fri due to the nearby medical center.
Public Transport
From Freudenstadt Stadtbahnhof, take bus line 12, 19, or 7266 towards Loßburg. Get off at the 'Loßburg ZOB' bus stop. From there, it's approximately a 6 km taxi ride to Großvatertanne, costing around €23-€29. Alternatively, from Loßburg ZOB, follow local signs and hike approximately 1.5 hours to Großvatertanne.
Walking
From the Wanderparkplatz Lauferbrunnen, follow the well-marked 'Waldgeschichtspfad' (Forest History Trail) for approximately 1.5 km (15 minutes). The path is mostly flat and easy to navigate. Follow the signs for Großvatertanne. Note that the path can be slippery when wet.
