Walking
From the heart of Baden-Baden (e.g., Leopoldsplatz), follow the signs towards the Neues Schloss (New Castle). From there, well-marked hiking trails lead uphill to Hohenbaden Castle. The walk is approximately 3 km and takes around 45 minutes, involving a steep climb through the Black Forest. The path leads around the eastern and southern sides of the castle to the entrance. No costs are associated with this approach.
Driving
From Baden-Baden, follow the Schlossbergtangente and Alter Schlossweg to Hohenbaden Castle. Parking is available in a designated lot near the castle entrance. Parking is free. Be aware that the road leading to the castle is narrow and winding.
Public Transport
While not the most convenient, you can take bus line 215 from Augustaplatz on Sundays from April to October. The bus runs twice a day, typically at 1:15 PM and 4:15 PM. Check the current schedule for any changes. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the castle entrance. A single bus fare is approximately €3.10.
