Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, head to the A1 motorway. Take the exit towards Ulmen (Exit 130) and follow the signs for B262. Continue on B262 until you reach the town of Ulmen. Once in Ulmen, follow the signs directing you to Ulmener Maar, which is located just outside of the town. There are ample parking spaces available near the maar.

Public Transportation

To reach Ulmener Maar by public transportation, take a train to the nearest station, which is Cochem or Ulmen station. From Cochem, you can catch a regional bus (Bus Number 711) that goes directly to Ulmen. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Once in Ulmen, follow the local signs to Ulmener Maar, which is just a short walk from the bus stop.

Walking

If you are already in Ulmen, you can reach Ulmener Maar by foot. The maar is approximately a 20-minute walk from the town center. Start by heading to the Ulmen Castle ruin, then follow the path that leads you towards the maar. The walking trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
