Walking
If you are in the city center of Erfurt, start at the Anger, which is a large square. Head northeast towards the main shopping street, the Angerstraße. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with the Windenstraße. Turn right onto Windenstraße and walk until you reach the next intersection. Turn left onto Am Wasserturm. Continue straight for about 400 meters, and you will see the Alter Wasserturm on your right at Am Wasserturm 7.
Public Transport
From Erfurt Central Station (Erfurt Hauptbahnhof), take tram line 1 towards 'Bischleben'. Get off at the 'Krämpfervorstadt' stop. After you exit the tram, walk east on Am Wasserturm for about 300 meters. Alter Wasserturm will be on your left at Am Wasserturm 7.
Bicycle
If you are renting a bicycle, start from the city center and head towards the river. Follow the bike path along the Gera River heading southeast. When you reach the 'Schwanenteich' area, continue to follow the signs towards Krämpfervorstadt. As you approach, turn onto Am Wasserturm and you will find Alter Wasserturm on your right at Am Wasserturm 7.
