If you are in the city center of Essen, start at the Essen Cathedral (Essener Münster). From the cathedral, head south on Altendorfer Str. toward the intersection with Kettwiger Str. The Essener Willkommensschild is located just a short walk away. Head towards the train station (Hauptbahnhof) along Am Hauptbahnhof street. You will find the Essener Willkommensschild at Am Hauptbahnhof 2, which is directly in front of the main entrance of the Essen Hauptbahnhof.

If you are further away, take the U-Bahn (subway) to Essen Hauptbahnhof. You can catch the U11 or U17 lines from any nearby station. Once you arrive at Essen Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and the Essener Willkommensschild is located right outside at Am Hauptbahnhof 2. Just follow the signs towards the main entrance of the train station.
