Getting There

  • Public Transport

    If you are at Essen Hauptbahnhof (the main train station), take the U11 tram towards Messe/Gruga. Board the tram at platform B and enjoy a short ride of about 10 minutes. Get off at the 'Messeplatz' stop. From there, you will see the entrance to Grugapark directly ahead, just a short walk across the street.

  • Walking

    If you are near the city center, you can walk to Grugapark. Start at the Steele train station and head south on Kaiserstraße for about 1 km. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Bismarckstraße. Turn right onto Bismarckstraße, and after approximately 500 meters, you will find the entrance to Grugapark on your left.

  • Bus

    From the stop 'Kettwiger Straße' in Essen city center, take bus line 140 towards 'Messeplatz'. The bus ride takes roughly 15 minutes. Disembark at the 'Messeplatz' stop, and Grugapark will be directly across the street.
