Follow Ludwigstraße straight ahead to the major junction with pedestrian lights. Turn right onto Obere Königsstraße and continue until you reach Kettenbrückstraße, where you turn left. Cross the Kettenbrücke bridge, proceed through the pedestrian zone and the weekly market stalls. At the next pedestrian crossing with traffic lights, cross Lange Straße and follow Obstmarktstraße slightly uphill. This route leads you directly to the heart of Bamberg, where you can explore the Regnitz River and its attractions. Note that the old town is easily walkable, and this is the best way to experience its charm.
