If you are in Sachsenhausen, you can easily walk to Portikus. Start by heading towards the nearest bridge over the River Main. The Alte Brücke (Old Bridge) is a popular choice. Once you reach the bridge, cross it to get to the Maininsel. After crossing, continue straight ahead until you see the entrance to Portikus on your left at Alte Brücke 2. This walk should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on your starting point.

From Sachsenhausen, you can also take the tram to get closer to Portikus. Head to the nearest tram stop, which is likely 'Hochstraße' or 'Schweizer Platz'. From there, take tram line 15 in the direction of 'Bockenheimer Warte'. Get off at the 'Schumannstraße' stop. From this stop, it is about a 10-minute walk to Portikus. Head towards the River Main and cross the Alte Brücke. Portikus will be located at Alte Brücke 2 on the Maininsel. Note that a single tram ticket costs approximately €2.75.
