Walking
If you are starting from Freiburg's main train station (Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head towards the city center. Walk straight along Bismarckallee until you reach the intersection with Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Turn right onto Kaiser-Joseph-Straße and continue walking until you reach Martinstor, the old city gate. From Martinstor, head straight down the street until you reach the bustling city square (Augustinerplatz). Continue walking straight, and you'll come to the Gerberau area. Gewerbekanal will be visible along the canal on your left.
