Walking
The Museum für Stadtgeschichte is centrally located on Münsterplatz, making it easily accessible by foot from most points in Freiburg's city center. From the Rathaus (City Hall), walk east towards the Freiburg Minster. The museum is located on the north side of the square, adjacent to the Historisches Kaufhaus (Historical Merchants' Hall). The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes. No costs are associated with walking.
Public Transport
If arriving by tram, the closest stop is 'Bertoldsbrunnen'. From Bertoldsbrunnen, walk southeast towards the Freiburg Minster. Continue past the Minster onto Münsterplatz. The museum will be on your left. A single tram ticket within Freiburg costs approximately €2.50. Alternatively, the 'Oberlinden' tram stop is also nearby. From there, walk towards the Münster and then onto Münsterplatz.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or ride-share from Freiburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station) to the Museum für Stadtgeschichte will take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic. The estimated cost is between €10-€15. Ask the driver to drop you off at Münsterplatz, near the Historisches Kaufhaus.
