Public Transport
From Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (main train station), take the U-Bahn line U1 towards 'Ohlstedt'. Transfer at 'Jungfernstieg' station to the U-Bahn line U4 towards 'HafenCity Universität'. Get off at 'HafenCity Universität' station. From there, walk approximately 10 minutes towards Steinhöft 17, where Alstermündung is located along the waterfront. A single fare for the U-Bahn is approximately €2-3.
Public Transport
Alternatively, from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof, take the S-Bahn line S3 or S31 towards 'Altona'. Get off at 'Landungsbrücken' station. From Landungsbrücken, walk along the waterfront towards Steinhöft. The walk is approximately 15 minutes. A single fare for the S-Bahn is approximately €2-3.
Walking
If you are already in the city center, you can walk to Alstermündung. Start at the Town Hall (Rathaus) and head southwest towards the Inner Alster Lake. Continue towards Jungfernstieg and follow the signs to Landungsbrücken. From there, walk along the waterfront to Steinhöft 17. The walk from Jungfernstieg to Alstermündung is approximately 20 minutes.
Taxi/Ride-Share
A taxi or ride-share from Hamburg Hauptbahnhof to Alstermündung will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. The estimated cost is between €15-€20. Note that prices may vary depending on the time of day and demand.
Parking
If driving, parking is available in the City-Parkhaus multi-storey car park, located a short walk from Alstermündung. The address is Bei der Stadtwassermühle. The daily maximum parking fee is approximately €25. Metered street parking is also available in the area, but spaces may be limited.
