If you are traveling by car, head towards Kiel and follow the signs for 'Zentrum' (City Center). Once you reach Kiel, follow the B76 road towards the city center. After approximately 2 km, take the exit for 'Schwanenweg'. Continue on Schwanenweg until you reach the Old Botanical Garden, located at Schwanenweg 14, 24105 Kiel. There is limited street parking available nearby, so be prepared to find a parking spot in the surrounding area.
Public Transportation
To reach the Old Botanical Garden by public transportation, first make your way to Kiel Central Station (Kiel Hbf). From there, take Bus Line 11 towards 'Kiel, Schwanenweg'. The bus journey takes about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Schwanenweg' stop, which is close to the botanical garden. From the bus stop, it’s just a short walk to Schwanenweg 14, where you will find the Old Botanical Garden. A single ticket for the bus costs approximately €2.50.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, Kiel has a bike-friendly infrastructure. Rent a bike from one of the many rental services in the city or bring your own. Follow the bike paths towards the city center and look for signs directing you to 'Schwanenweg'. The journey from central Kiel to the Old Botanical Garden should take around 15-20 minutes.
