Car
If you are traveling by car, start by heading towards the A39 highway. From anywhere in Lüneburg Heath, follow local signs to the A39 and take the exit towards Lüneburg. Once on the A39, continue until you reach the exit for Lüneburg. Follow the signs for Lüneburg city center and then for 'Am Domänenhof'. The abbey is located at Am Domänenhof, 21337 Lüneburg. There is parking available near the abbey, but please be aware that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a regional train (RE or S-Bahn) to Lüneburg station. Once you arrive at Lüneburg station, you can take bus line 501 or 502 towards 'Lüneburg, Domänenhof'. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Disembark at the 'Domänenhof' stop, which is just a short walk from Lüne Abbey. Be sure to check the current bus schedules for any changes in times. A single ticket costs around €2.50.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Lüneburg. From the town center, follow the signs towards Am Domänenhof. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace. There are bike paths available, making it a safe option. Remember to lock your bike at the designated bike racks near Lüne Abbey.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, Lüne Abbey is accessible on foot from the Lüneburg city center. The walk takes about 30 minutes. Start from the market square and head towards 'Am Domänenhof' following the signs. This route is scenic and allows you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lüneburg Heath.
