Getting There

  • Tram

    If you are starting from Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main train station), exit the station and look for the tram stops outside. Take tram line 12 (direction: Gohlis Nord) or tram line 15 (direction: Meusdorf). Both trams will take you to the 'Zoo' stop. The journey takes about 15 minutes. Once you get off at the 'Zoo' tram stop, follow the signs to the Zoo Leipzig, which is just a short walk down Pfaffendorfer Str. to your left.

  • Bus

    From Leipzig Hauptbahnhof, you can also take bus line 70 (direction: Mölkau, Fährstraße). Get off at the stop 'Zoo Leipzig'. The bus ride will take around 20 minutes. After getting off, follow the signs leading to the Zoo, which is located on Pfaffendorfer Str.

  • Walking

    If you are in the city center, you can walk to Zoo Leipzig. Start at the Augustusplatz, head southeast towards the Nikolai Church, then continue straight down the Grimmaische Str. until you reach the intersection with Pfaffendorfer Str. Turn left onto Pfaffendorfer Str. The Zoo will be on your right after a short walk. This route takes approximately 25-30 minutes.

  • Bicycle

    Leipzig has a good network of bike paths. You can rent a bicycle from one of the many bike-sharing services in the city. Head towards the city park (Johannapark) and follow the signs leading to the Zoo. The journey should take around 15-20 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
