Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from Lower Rhine, take the A57 autobahn heading south until you reach the junction with the A4. Merge onto the A4 towards Karlsruhe. Continue on the A4 for approximately 50 km, then take the exit towards Karlsruhe-Durlach. Follow the signs for the city center. Once you reach Karlsruhe, navigate to Schloßbezirk 10. There are parking garages available nearby, but be aware that parking may incur additional costs (approximately €2-€3 per hour).

• Train

  For those using public transportation, the most convenient way is to take a train from any major station in Lower Rhine to Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof (Karlsruhe Central Station). Trains are frequent; check the schedule for specific departure times. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof, exit the station and walk towards the tram stop located directly outside the station. Take tram line S1 or S11 towards 'Gartenstadt' or 'Mühlburg' and get off at 'Schloßplatz' (about 5 minutes). From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Schloßbezirk 10 where the State Museum of Baden is located.

• Bus

  If you prefer to take a bus, you can use regional bus services that connect various towns in Lower Rhine to Karlsruhe. Check the local bus schedules for routes that arrive at Karlsruhe, then transfer to tram line S1 or S11 at the central bus station in Karlsruhe (Zentraler Omnibusbahnhof). From there, follow the same tram instructions to reach Schloßplatz, followed by a 5-minute walk to the museum.
