Continue on the D52 road and follow the signs for Ouvrage Hackenberg. The fortress is located at Rte Militaire, 57920 Veckring, France. There is free parking available on-site.

    Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take a train from Metz to Thionville. From Thionville station, you can catch bus line 2 towards 'Hagondange' and get off at the 'Veckring' stop. From there, it is approximately a 30-minute walk to the fortress. Alternatively, consider taking a taxi from Thionville station for a more direct route, which will take around 15 minutes and may cost approximately 20-25 euros.
