If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the town of Grüna. Totenstein is located at the coordinates 50.8250° N, 12.7789° E. From Chemnitz, take the B173 road towards the east, and then follow signs for A72. Merge onto A72 and take exit 12 towards Chemnitz-Rottluff. Continue on B173 until you reach Grüna. Once in Grüna, follow local signs leading to Totenstein. There’s limited parking available near the trailhead, so arrive early during peak times.

To reach Totenstein using public transportation, take a train to Chemnitz Hauptbahnhof (main station). From there, transfer to bus line 204 towards Grüna. The bus will take you to the stop closest to Totenstein. Be sure to check the local bus schedule for the latest times. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Grüna, you may need to walk approximately 1 km to the trailhead. Be aware that the bus may require a ticket, which costs around €2-€4 depending on your starting point.
