Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Rüdesheim am Rhein. Use the A60 or A63 highway, depending on your starting point. Once in Rüdesheim, follow the signs for Assmannshausen. The Niederwald-Seilbahn Assmannshausen lower station is located at Niederwaldstraße 34, 65385 Rüdesheim am Rhein. There is parking available near the lower station, but be aware that parking may incur a fee, so have some cash or a card ready.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take a train to Rüdesheim am Rhein from major cities like Frankfurt or Mainz. Once you arrive at Rüdesheim am Rhein station, exit the station and take bus line 171 towards Assmannshausen. Get off at the Niederwaldstraße stop, which is just a short walk from the lower station of the chair lift. The bus ticket costs around €2-€4 depending on your departure point.

• Bus

  If you are already in Rüdesheim, you can take bus line 171 directly to Assmannshausen. Board the bus at the main bus station in Rüdesheim, and ride until you reach the Niederwaldstraße stop. The bus trip takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Ensure you have a valid bus ticket, which can be purchased at ticket machines or via mobile apps.

• Walking

  If you prefer walking and are staying nearby, from the center of Rüdesheim, head towards the riverfront and follow the promenade along the Rhine River. Continue until you reach Niederwaldstraße, where you will see signs directing you to the lower station of the chair lift. The walk is about 30-40 minutes and offers beautiful views along the way.
