Public Transport - U-Bahn
If you are starting from Stuttgart Main Station (Hauptbahnhof), take the U-Bahn line U5 or U6 towards 'Leinfelden' or 'Filderstadt'. Ride for two stops and get off at 'Schlossplatz'. From the exit, walk towards the large square where the New Palace (Neues Schloss) is located. The Old Castle (Altes Schloss) is just a short walk away, located at Schillerplatz 6, to the right of the square.
Public Transport - S-Bahn
From Stuttgart Main Station, you can also take the S-Bahn. Take any S-Bahn line towards 'Stuttgart Stadtmitte' or 'Bad Cannstatt'. After one stop, get off at 'Stuttgart Stadtmitte'. Exit the station and walk straight towards the main shopping street (Königstraße). Continue walking until you reach Schlossplatz, where the Old Castle is located at Schillerplatz 6, just off the square.

If you are in the city center or nearby, you can simply walk to the Old Castle. Look for Schlossplatz as a landmark. From Schlossplatz, head towards Schillerplatz, which is accessible on foot and is just a couple of minutes away. The Old Castle is located at Schillerplatz 6, and its entrance is clearly marked.
Public Transport - Bus
You can also take a bus to reach the Old Castle. From Stuttgart Main Station, take bus line 42 towards 'Gorch-Fock-Straße'. After three stops, get off at 'Schillerplatz'. The Old Castle is a short walk from the bus stop, located at Schillerplatz 6.
