If arriving by bus from Ilmenau (Line 300), disembark at the Frauenwald, Bahnhof stop. From there, it's a short walk towards the main road (L3004) leading into the village. The Hirschsäule will be directly at the entrance to the village. A single bus fare from Ilmenau to Frauenwald costs approximately €4-€6.
Driving
When driving to Frauenwald, follow the L3004 or L1141. The Hirschsäule is located directly at the Ortseingang (entrance) of Frauenwald and is easily visible from the road. Limited free parking is available near the site. Please be aware that parking on the street or sidewalks within the village is prohibited.
