Car
If you're driving, start from the center of Zugspitze and head southeast on the B2 road. Follow the signs for Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After about 10 minutes, you will reach the town of Grainau. Look for the signs pointing to Eibsee, which will lead you to Seeweg 1-3. The drive takes approximately 20 minutes, and there is parking available near the lake. Be prepared to pay for parking, which costs around €4 for the whole day.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start at the Zugspitzbahn station in Zugspitze. Take the regional train towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. After a 10-minute ride, you'll arrive at Garmisch-Partenkirchen station. From there, transfer to the bus line 2 or 5 heading towards Grainau. Get off at the Eibsee stop. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes. Keep some coins handy for the bus fare, which is around €3. Once you arrive at the Eibsee stop, follow the signs to Seeweg 1-3, which is just a short walk away.
Bike
If you're feeling adventurous, consider biking from Zugspitze to Berg Brunnen-Eibsee. You can rent a bike in Zugspitze, and then follow the scenic cycling paths towards Grainau. The ride is approximately 6 km and will take about 30-40 minutes depending on your speed. Once you reach Grainau, follow the signs to Eibsee, which will lead you to Seeweg 1-3. Remember to wear a helmet and bring water with you.
