Walking
From the center of Cape Coast, head towards the Cape Coast Castle. Walk along the main road (George Bush Highway) heading west. Continue walking for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction where the road forks. At this fork, take the left road which leads you towards Elmina. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers. You will pass through a small village. After passing the village, keep an eye out for signs directing you towards Elmina Castle. As you approach Elmina, you will see the castle on your right-hand side. The entrance is easily accessible from the main road.

From Cape Coast, make your way to the nearest trotro (shared minibus) station, which is located near the Cape Coast Castle. Look for a trotro heading to Elmina. The fare is usually quite affordable. The ride should take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Elmina Castle. Once you arrive in Elmina, the castle is a short walk from the trotro stop. Just follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the castle, which is a prominent landmark in the area.
