Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Kwahu. Head south on the main road towards Amedzofe. Continue on this road for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach a junction. At the junction, follow the signs pointing towards Amedzofe. Once in Amedzofe, keep an eye out for the local signs directing you to Mt. Gemi. The final stretch will involve navigating a gravel road, and you may need to park at a designated area before hiking the remaining distance to the summit.

Public Transportation

To reach Mt. Gemi via public transportation, you can take a trotro (shared minibus) from the main trotro station in Kwahu to Amedzofe. The ride typically costs around 2 GHS and takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Amedzofe, ask locals for directions to Mt. Gemi. From there, you might need to hire a local taxi or walk to the trailhead, as the final part of the journey may not be accessible by public transport. Expect to pay around 10-15 GHS for a short taxi ride.

Walking

If you prefer a more adventurous approach and are already in Amedzofe, you can walk to the trailhead of Mt. Gemi. The walk from the town center to the base of the mountain takes about 45 minutes, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water, as the trail can be steep in sections.
