Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Akosombo, which is a central point in Lake Volta. Take the main road east towards Amedzofe. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the turn-off for Amedzofe. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you arrive in Amedzofe. Once in the town, follow local signs or ask for directions to Mt. Gemi, which is located at the coordinates VC4M+MCG. Keep in mind that the roads may be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. There may be some small tolls along the way, so keep some cash handy.
Public Transport
To reach Mt. Gemi using public transport, take a trotro (shared minibus) from Akosombo to Amedzofe. You can find trotros at the main bus station in Akosombo. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Upon arrival in Amedzofe, you can either walk to Mt. Gemi, which is around 1.5 kilometers from the town center, or hire a local taxi for a small fee (approximately 5-10 GHS) to take you directly to the base of the mountain. Be sure to confirm the price before starting your journey.
