Getting There

  • Car

    From Gibraltar Harbour, head east on Queensway towards the junction with Main Street. Continue straight onto the A302 (also known as Waterport Road). Follow the A302 for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit at the roundabout onto the A1 road, following the signs for 'Upper Rock Nature Reserve.' Continue on this road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see signs for St Michael's Cave. As you approach, look for the entrance to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve where you can park your car. There may be a parking fee (around £2 per hour). From the parking area, there is a short walk uphill to the entrance of Lower St Michael's Cave.

    From Gibraltar Harbour, you can take a bus from the main bus stop near the cruise terminal. Look for the bus labeled 'Upper Rock' or 'Cable Car.' This will take you towards the cable car station. The bus ride will cost approximately £2.50. Once you reach the cable car station, you can either take the cable car (for a fee of about £16 return) or continue by bus. If you take the cable car, you will disembark near the entrance to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve. From there, it is a short uphill walk to Lower St Michael's Cave.
