    Getting There

    Public Transport

    The Gibraltar Cable Car is accessible via several bus routes. Bus lines 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, N1, and N8S all have routes that pass near the cable car. From the Cruise Ship Terminal, bus routes 5 and 10 will take you to Boyd Street Terminus (Cable Car). A return bus ticket costs £2.40, and a day hopper ticket is £6. From the land frontier with Spain, the GibraltarInfo shuttle bus provides transport to the Cable Car base station for those who have pre-purchased tickets online or at the Gibraltarinfo kiosk. Local bus number 10 also stops near the Cable Car.

    Walking

    The Gibraltar Cable Car base station is located at the southern end of Main Street, next to the Alameda Gardens. From the city center, it is easily accessible by foot. From the Apes' Den in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, follow the paths downhill towards Red Sands Road. The walk takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

    Taxi

    Taxis are readily available throughout Gibraltar. A taxi ride from the Gibraltar Airport to the Cable Car base station will cost approximately £20. A 5km ride in Gibraltar costs about 13.6 GBP. Tipping is customary, around 10-19% of the fare.

    Driving

    If driving, navigate to Gibraltar via the A1 road from Spain and follow signs for 'Upper Rock Nature Reserve'. Parking is available on Grand Parade near the Cable Car bottom station. Note that only the center bays with white lines are free; yellow lines are for resident permit holders, and blue lines are pay and display. It is not possible to drive a non-resident vehicle within the area of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve, Upper Rock, except for Blue Badge holders.

    Local tips

    Purchase tickets online in advance to avoid long queues, especially during peak tourist seasons.
    Arrive early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the busiest times.
    Be mindful of the Barbary macaques; they are wild animals and should be treated with caution. Secure your belongings.
    A separate ticket is required to access the Upper Rock Nature Reserve.
