If you are near a metro station, take Line 1 (the Green Line) towards Kifisia. Get off at Monastiraki station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the exit that leads to the square. From Monastiraki Square, you can walk to Plaka, which is just a short 5-10 minute walk away.

You can take any bus that goes to Syntagma Square. From Syntagma Square, head towards the metro entrance and take the steps down to the metro station. Take Line 3 (the Blue Line) towards Egaleo and get off at Monastiraki station. Exit the station and walk towards Monastiraki Square, then continue on foot to Plaka, which is about a 10-minute walk.

If you are already in the central area of Athens, you can simply walk to Plaka. From Syntagma Square, head down Vasilissis Sofias Avenue and take a left onto Amalias Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of the National Garden, then cross through the garden towards Vassileos Georgiou Street. Walk down this street, and you will enter Plaka in about 15-20 minutes.
