From Chania, head to the main bus station located at 1866 Square. Take the bus to Georgioupoli, which is approximately a 40-minute ride. The buses run regularly, so check the schedule for the next departure. Once you arrive at Georgioupoli, you can follow the signs to Kournas, which is nearby. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the bus stop, heading east. Follow the road towards Kournas Lake, and you will find it on your right.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Chania. From the Old Town, head towards the harbor and follow the coast until you reach the road that leads to Georgioupoli. It is approximately a 20 km ride, so make sure to bring water and snacks. Once you reach the area of Georgioupoli, continue on the main road to Kournas Lake, which is well-marked.

For those who prefer walking and have adequate time, you can stroll from Chania to Kournas. It's a long walk, approximately 20 km, so be prepared for a journey of about 4-5 hours. Start by heading north from the Old Town and follow the signs towards the coastal path leading to Georgioupoli. Once you reach Georgioupoli, follow the road east to Kournas Lake. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
