Upon reaching the ferry terminal in Kamariotissa, you will need to take the ferry to the island of Samothrace. The ferry ride takes about 1 hour and costs approximately 10-15 euros per person. Once you arrive at Kamariotissa, follow the road signs towards Chora (the main village of Samothrace). Continue driving towards the direction of the Fonia Gorge, which is located near the village of Paleopoli. The gorge is about a 30-minute drive from Chora. Look for signs indicating Fonia Gorge as you approach the Paleopoli area.

If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Alexandroupoli to Kamariotissa, which usually runs multiple times a day. The bus fare is around 10-12 euros and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Kamariotissa, you will then need to take the ferry to Samothrace. After reaching the island, you can either hire a taxi or use local buses to reach Chora and then continue to Paleopoli. The local buses may have limited schedules, so it is advisable to check the timetable in advance. The final stretch from Chora to Fonia Gorge will require a taxi ride, which can cost around 15-20 euros.
