From Ioannina, the largest nearby city, take the E85/E90/A2 highway towards Metsovo. Exit towards East Zagori/Vikos and follow the provincial roads through the mountainous region. The drive to the Vikos Gorge area, specifically the village of Monodendri, takes approximately 1 hour. Parking is available in Monodendri, near the entrance to the Vikos Gorge trail. Parking is free but can be limited during peak season.

From Ioannina, take a KTEL bus towards the villages of Zagori. Buses to Monodendri are infrequent, with services running approximately once every two weeks. A more reliable option is to take a bus to a larger village like Vitsa or Aristi and then take a taxi to Monodendri. Bus fare from Ioannina to Vitsa or Aristi is approximately €5-€7. A taxi from Vitsa or Aristi to Monodendri will cost around €15-€20.
