    If you are in the central area of Kalamata, head towards the main square, Plateia Kalamata. From there, locate the statue of the hero of the Greek War of Independence, which is commonly referred to as the 'Statue of the Hero'. Once you are facing the statue, take the street directly to your right, which is called Aristomenous Street. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Christou Lada Street. Turn left onto Christou Lada Street and walk for another 200 meters. The Metropolitan Church of Ypapanti will be on your right side, easily identifiable by its large dome and impressive facade.
