Car
If you're traveling by car, start by navigating to the nearest major city, which is Thessaloniki. From Thessaloniki, take the Egnatia Odos (A2) highway heading towards Kavala. After approximately 80 km, take the exit towards Drama (E90). Continue on this road for about 20 km until you reach the town of Drama. From Drama, follow signs to Υδρούσσα (Ydroussa) which is approximately 10 km away. Once you arrive in Υδρούσσα, continue towards the Triantaphyllia Dam, which is located at the coordinates 40.7093° N, 21.4597° E. There is parking available near the dam.
Public Transportation
To reach Triantaphyllia Dam using public transportation, take a bus from Thessaloniki to Drama. Buses from the KTEL Thessaloniki terminal run frequently and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arriving in Drama, you will need to take a local bus or find a taxi to reach Υδρούσσα, which is around 10 km from Drama. Local buses may not run frequently, so it’s advisable to check the schedule in advance or opt for a taxi. Once you arrive in Υδρούσσα, follow the signs to the Triantaphyllia Dam which is a short distance away.
