Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Chora, head towards the main square, known as Manto Mavrogenous Square. Once you reach the square, look for the signs directing you towards Ano Mera. Follow the street leading east from the square, which is a slight incline. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the main road (a larger street). At this intersection, turn left and walk for about 15-20 minutes. You'll pass several local shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing towards Gyzi Castle. It is located just off the main road on a small hill on your right side. Follow the path leading uphill to reach the entrance.

• Public Bus

  If you prefer not to walk, you can take a local bus from Chora to Ano Mera. Head to the bus station located near the old port in Chora. Check the bus schedule; buses to Ano Mera run frequently, especially during tourist season. The ticket will cost around 2.50 Euros. Once you arrive at the Ano Mera bus stop, exit the bus and walk towards the village center. From there, follow the same directions as walking from Chora, which will take about 10-15 minutes to reach Gyzi Castle.

• Taxi

  For a more convenient option, you can take a taxi from any location in Chora directly to Gyzi Castle. You can find taxis at various points around Chora, especially near the waterfront. The drive will take approximately 10 minutes, and the fare should be around 10-15 Euros, depending on traffic conditions. Just inform the driver that you want to go to Gyzi Castle, and they will take you directly to the entrance.
