Walking
Start at the central square of Nafplio, Syntagma Square. Head south towards the harbor, taking the main street that leads directly down. Once you reach the waterfront, continue walking along the promenade until you see the statue of the hero Kolokotronis. From there, take the road that leads inland, passing by the National Gallery. Keep walking straight until you reach the main intersection at the end of the street. Here, turn left onto the street named 25 Martiou. Walk straight for about 15-20 minutes until you see a sign for the Mycenaean Dam (also referred to as Tiryns Dam). Follow the signs that will guide you off the main road onto an unpaved path leading to the dam.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Nafplio, preferably near the harbor. Begin your ride towards the east along the coast on the bicycle path. Continue until you reach the end of the promenade. From there, take the road that leads inland towards the Tiryns archaeological site. Follow the signs for the Mycenaean Dam. The ride should take about 25-30 minutes, and be sure to keep an eye out for any directional signs along the way.
Public Transport
From Nafplio, walk to the central bus station located near the harbor. Look for the bus that goes to Argos, as that route typically passes near the Mycenaean Dam. Purchase a ticket from the kiosk or directly from the driver. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Once you reach the stop closest to the dam (you may need to ask the driver), disembark and walk a short distance towards the dam, which should be visible from the bus stop. Keep in mind to check the bus schedule for return times.
