Bus
From Rethymno, head to the main bus station located near the city center on 25 Martiou Street. Look for the bus that goes to Chania or Souda, which is indicated on the route signs. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Souda bus station, you will need to walk about 10 minutes to reach the Allied War Cemetery. Exit the bus station and head southeast on Eleftheriou Venizelou Street, then turn left onto Kato Skala Street. Continue straight until you reach the cemetery, which will be on your right.
Taxi
You can easily find a taxi in Rethymno. Simply ask your hotel reception to call one for you or find a taxi stand in the city. Inform the driver that you wish to go to the Allied War Cemetery in Souda, which is approximately 13 km away. The drive should take around 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure to have cash, as not all taxis may accept credit cards.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and want to experience the local area, you can walk to the bus station in Rethymno and take a bus to Souda. After arriving at the Souda bus station, you can then walk to the cemetery. The total walk from the city center to the bus station is about 15 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and follow the same walking directions as described in the bus guidance once you arrive in Souda.
