From the Old Town of Rethymno, head towards the seafront promenade. Follow the promenade westward, enjoying the views of the sea. Keep walking until you reach the harbor area. Once you reach the harbor, continue along the coastal path past the Venetian Fortress (Fortezza). This route will take you through some beautiful scenery. After the fortress, continue along the coast until you reach the sign for Glyka Nera beach. The path may become a little steep, so be prepared for a short hike down to the beach.

Start at the central bus station in Rethymno, located near the Old Town. Take the bus towards Chania, and get off at the 'Platanias' stop. From there, you will need to walk towards the beach area. Follow the signs for Glyka Nera beach, which is about a 20-minute walk from the bus stop. The route will lead you down toward the coast, and you will see signs directing you to the beach.
