Foot
From the center of Rethymno, head south towards the Old Harbor. Walk along the promenade until you reach the end of the harbor. From there, continue straight onto the main road (Ethniki Odos) that leads towards Chania. Follow the signs for Sfakia, which is approximately a 30 km walk from Rethymno. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Rethymno to Sfakia, which is a more convenient option.
Bus
Make your way to the Rethymno bus station located near the Old Town. Look for the KTEL bus service heading to Sfakia. Purchase a ticket from the ticket counter or onboard the bus (if tickets are available). The bus ride will take you directly to Sfakia, which is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Once you arrive in Sfakia, Pachnes peak will be a short hike from the village.
Taxi
You can find taxis around the Old Town area or at designated taxi stands. Ask the driver to take you to Sfakia. The drive will take approximately 1 hour, and it's advisable to confirm the fare upfront or ask for the meter to be used. Once you arrive in Sfakia, you can start your hike to Pachnes peak.
