Start from the center of Rethymno, specifically at the Venetian Harbor. Walk south along the harbor promenade until you reach the end of the harbor. From there, continue straight onto the main road, Odos Eleftheriou Venizelou. Keep walking for about 1.5 kilometers (approximately 20-25 minutes), following the road as it curves. You will pass by a few local shops and cafes. Once you reach the junction, turn left onto Odos Macherida. After about 500 meters, you will see signs for Paralia Macherida. Follow these signs until you reach the beach.
Public Transport
From the center of Rethymno, head to the nearest bus station, which is located near the Venetian Harbor. Look for the bus heading towards Akrotiri. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Akrotiri stop. Once you get off the bus, walk straight ahead for about 300 meters, and you will find Paralia Macherida on your right.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Rethymno. Start from the center, heading south towards the Venetian Harbor.
