Getting There

    If you are starting from Fira, the capital of Santorini, head towards the main square (Plateia Theotokopoulou). From there, take the path leading south towards the caldera. You will see signs directing you towards the Old Port. Continue to walk along the path, which will slope downwards. After approximately 15 minutes, you will arrive at the Old Port of Fira (Ormos Firon).

    Once you reach the Old Port, look for the entrance to the Karavolades Stairs, which is located on the right side of the port area. The stairs are quite visible, with a sign indicating the route. Begin your descent down the approximately 580 steps that lead to the water's edge. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the steps can be uneven.

    If you are starting from Oia, take a bus to Fira. Buses run frequently throughout the day and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Fira, follow the same instructions as above to reach the Old Port and Karavolades Stairs.
