    Nestled in a small field near the village of Agalas, the Andronios Wells provide a serene connection to Zakynthos' history and natural beauty. Local legend tells the tale of Andronios, a fearsome dragon who was defeated by Damianos, the village protector. As punishment, Andronios was forced to dig twelve wells, one for each month of the year, to provide water for the villagers. While eleven wells are visible, the twelfth is said to be hidden underground. Even today, the central well remains in use, supplying fresh water to local residents. Visitors can even draw water from it using a bucket. The wells are located on private property, each bearing the name of its owner, and are integrated into the surrounding cultivated lands. A visit to the Andronios Wells offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and appreciate the ingenuity and traditions of Zakynthos' past.
