Discover more about Levera National Park

Levera National Park, situated on the northern end of Grenada, stands as one of the island's most diverse and scenic coastal regions. Established in 1992, the 450-acre park encompasses a variety of ecosystems, including mangrove swamps, a lagoon, beaches, and coastal dry forests. The park's lagoon is a crucial wildlife habitat, attracting birdwatchers with its extraordinary birdlife, including the Scarlet Ibis, herons, black-necked stilts, and common snipes. Levera Beach is a major nesting site for endangered leatherback turtles, typically from March to July, offering visitors a chance to witness these creatures. Visitors can explore the 23-acre pond via a walking trail and boardwalk. The park also offers views of Sugar Loaf, Green, and Sandy Islands. Levera National Park is not only a haven for wildlife but also holds historical significance, with remnants of old sugar plantations scattered throughout. While a failed resort development attempt has led to some land ownership issues, the park remains a natural paradise for eco-adventures.
